Planning Your Wedding at Portage Chapel Hill

Congratulations on your decision to be married! We welcome you to plan your wedding at Portage Chapel Hill Church.

Wedding Planning Process:

  • Call the office at (269) 327-6643 to discuss your wish to be married at the church and to check available dates
  • You will be asked about your relationship to Chapel Hill; if you do not have an existing relationship to this church or to our pastors you will be invited to visit our worship services and get to know our pastors and this faith community
  • Once your wedding date has been approved you will be contacted by either one of our pastors or by the church’s wedding coordinator
  • The ceremony will be performed by either Pastor Barry Petrucci or Pastor Jess Davenport; no outside officiants will be permitted. Exceptions may be made if the pastor is a colleague of Pastor Barry or Pastor Jess
  • Pre-marital counseling with a pastor is required
  • A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required

Facility Use:

  • No alcoholic beverages may be served or consumed on church property at any time; smoking/vaping on church property is only permitted outside, a minimum of 20 feet away from the building
  • A custodian will be on-site before, during, and after the wedding. Custodial fees begin at $200 for a minimum of 4 hours of work; anything over 4 hours will be charged at a rate of $50 per hour


Total cost of having your wedding at Portage Chapel Hill is variable, and will be calculated by the wedding coordinator and officiating pastor. The $200 non-refundable deposit that is paid when the wedding date is reserved is applied to the total cost. Fees include, but are not limited to,

  • Sound/lighting technician
  • Organist/accompanist
  • Use of the building on the wedding day, including dressing rooms, restrooms, and reception area
  • Use of the building for a rehearsal
  • Custodial fee
  • Parking
  • Pre-marital sessions with clergy
