Chapel Hill has a variety of opportunities for singers and instrumentalists of all ages to use their talents in making joyful noise! To get connected to any of the groups listed below please contact the church office at [email protected].
Youth & Adults:
- Chancel Choir – The Chancel Choir leads the hymns and special music for The Gathering 9 am worship service each Sunday, as well as holiday and special services. There’s always room for more folks who enjoy singing, and no experience is necessary. Choir rehearsals are Thursdays from 7 – 8:30 pm.
- New Life Team – The New Life Team band leads music for The Journey 11 am worship service each Sunday, as well as holiday and special services. The team currently consists of vocalists, guitar, bass, drums, piano and fiddle, and they are always on the lookout for more talented musicians. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7 – 8:30 pm.
- Chapel Hill Ringers Bell Choir – The Bell Choir performs special music for Sunday worship about once per month, alternating between the 9 am and the 11 am services, as well as holiday and special services. Ability to read music is helpful but not required. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6 – 7:30 pm.
Kids:
- Children’s Performance for Christmas Eve Family Worship – Each year as part of our Christmas Eve Family Worship service, kids from Preschool – 9th grade put on a special holiday musical theater performance. Anyone who wants a speaking part gets one, and memorization is not required! Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6 – 7 pm beginning in November for 1st – 9th graders, and beginning in December for Preschool and Kindergarten. More details will be coming as the Advent season draws near.
- Children’s Bells – Kids in 1st – 9th grade are invited to check out the church’s bells and chimes for a 6-week session that typically starts in January. They will explore the instruments and learn a piece of music to perform during worship at the end of the six weeks. Rehearsals happen on Sunday mornings at 11 am, during Children in Worship. More details will be coming once the dates for 2024 are announced.
